I can't read your link, but the EU parliament is indeed elected, although voter turnout/participation is very low. You should get out there and vote if you aren't happy with what they do.

Their only function is to provide consultation for the EU Commission - which holds the true power and makes all the decisions. For example, the EU Parliament can tell the EU Commission that the majority of EU citizens don't want electric cars, but the EU Commission still makes new laws to ban ICEs and promote EVs. The EU is not a democracy, it's a "democracy simulation".

That's kind of like saying the US isn't a democracy because the head of the SEC, EPA, FEC, etc...aren't directly elected. Everyone is either directly elected or appointed by people that are elected.

Well the EU Parliament has a consulting role and CAN BE OVERRULED by the EU Commission. And that's what happens all the time in this joke called the EU. They make decisions which go against the wants and needs of the majority of EU member states.

The EU Commission doesn't listen to what we "peasants" want.
