My mom and dad. So I got a double dose of it. When my mom sold her Bronco it looked just like the day it was purchased from the dealer.
Your mom had a Bronco...Gen I or full size?

Full size. I think it was an 1986 two tone blue and silver. Looked nice but would ride like shit. It was traded in on her current 1998 Expedition. That also looks brand new.
I learned how to drive in that Bronco and thought you had to fight all cars to keep them going in a straight line.

Hell for $1,500 I'd buy a Silverardo if it was that cheap and clean.

I kind of have a patriotic car theme going on with the red, white and blue paint. Only problem with that is two of them are from Hiroshima.

I was a white car short of having that a few years back but the blue car was from Stuttgart and the red one came from a factory that likely built shit that bombed Stuttgart.

Well, the US did drop a nuke on Hiroshima, so that counts.

Congrats, it certainly is different from what you had.

It's nice to have something to drive around that you don't care too much about.

I would love to have a pick-up like that as another car.  Congratulations.  I can't justify it based on added insurance costs of having another car though.  Plus my shitty back won't allow me to lift anything heavy anyways so I always get stuff delivered or like a pussy get the Home Depot guy to put it in my car for me.

Unfortunately that's not how my brain works. I'll wash and clean this thing just like I do my other two cars all the time. It will just take much longer to do because this thing is fucking huge and it took over an hour to wash just the other day.

You should just own silver colored cars.  Would very rarely have to wash them.

Silver is a good color. It looks good and shows dents and dirt less. I'd still was whatever it was once a week anyway. I wash the RX-8 twice a week just like I did the miata. Seeing that this is a truck I'll probably only wash it once a week.

I don't like dirty cars. And theres a reason why my families cars look great after 10+ years of driving them.

I'm the same way (wash once a week - usually). I also get my cars detailed 2x a year and get door dings and small dents fixed (via paintless dent removal, which has worked great for me). My previous two cars, each with 150,000+ miles when I got rid of them, looked like they had 30,000 miles (they were also lighter in color so that helps). The G with ~70,000 miles isn't holding up quite as good, some because it is dark blue which will show stuff easier and some because the clear coat is starting to peel a bit on the rear bumper (but at least it's hidden when the trunk is shut).

The one aspect of vehicle care that is a PITA for me is wheels. I drive some on gravel roads and a fair amount in the snow and mountain passes (i.e., lots of gravel and hitting unseen potholes and junk in the road) so my wheels take a beating. The G's wheels I come to find out aren't simply clear coat aluminum but mutli-coat painted aluminum, which looks exactly like aluminum to me. But w/e. The point it is a wheel shop wants $250/ea to refinish, and they need the wheels (i.e., car) for an entire day. It's a PITA so though the car looks fantastic the wheels are fairly beat up. Ugh.

When I sold my MX-3 GS to carmax years ago the guy who took my car for a test drive before they gave me my check told them "that's the cleanest used car I've ever been in and I've been in thousands. If you don't buy it from him I will."

Yeah, I would love for you to be the person who owns a car before me, but that is so. much. work. for what I see as a minimal benefit.

It takes an hour or less a week. That is if you keep one clean all the time then it only takes an hour to keep it that way. Just like a house, keep it as clean as possible during the week and it won't take but an hour to clean on the weekend.

I'm the same way about my cars! The G8 gets washed at least twice a week and after any foul weather....

Weh you keep them clean it takes not time at all to do a basic wash and dry. Now I'm not talking full on detail and wax here when you take the rims off and wax them too. Those take all day but I only do those every other week......

That's a joke, I do those about 4 times a year per car.

The benefit is clean/waxed paint looks good for much (much) longer.

I'd have to wash my car practically every other day...  One of the reasons I don't bother to wash it more than twice a month.  Not much point when it's going to get rained on and driven on dirty, wet roads the day after you wash it.  Averaging 13 days of rainfall a month...

If you ever see me with a mustang I'll buy you a ticket to NC and you can use any gun I have you want to put me under.

Unless I'm restoring one for a friend or something. Then I'll do the same as above and you can just kick me as many times as you want in my balls.
