After seeing this, I now feel that there's still hope in the world. Thank you, Porsche. Thank you.

Have they stopped worrying about the kid-brother Cayman eclipsing and bettering the 911 flagship?

Its still on a tite leash. This thing could easily utilize the GT3's engine. It's still going to be dominated by the chassis.

I have never wanted a Porsche before, but this thing has grabbed me by the balls and won't let go.  I'm in love with this car.

Wing delete and keeping the little ducktail spoiler = perfect.

Totally agree but I'd be surprised they did that (as the duckbill is a 911 thing).

I imagine the depreciation on this thing will be atronomically low (maybe like the 997.2 GT3RS).  Maybe I shall invest in GT4 instead of stocks...

It won't be anywhere near as rare as that.

Except I doubt many parts in the aftermarket are going to be as good as the GT3 parts on the GT4. Plus, they completely redesigned the front axle, and had to cut out and reinforce/weld parts of the tub to both make it stronger and squish the 3.8L in there. Nothing you buy on the aftermarket is going to be as strong or buttoned down as the GT4. You can't equate throwing some parts at a used Cayman with the best a factory can do.

The only possible way this could have gotten better is if they would have dug the Mezger out of the graveyard... Here's hoping for a gt4rs

I can't believe how much I am lusting after this car.  I hate Porsches. What's wrong with me?

12,000 RPM

Good cars are good cars.

This thing brings all the good things of the GT3 to the table with out the stigma of gauche FOGs. It's a car that does little more than demand and reward hard driving- and rewards it handsomely. It's also very unique in the marketplace- it foregoes outright performance for purity and driving engagement. This is kind of like the Macan vs Cayenne.... I'm struggling to think of what the GT3 does for me that this doesn't, especially in real life. Doesn't hurt that it looks a ton better as well. It's the perfect driver's car. The modern incarnation of the NSX Type R.

The wallpaper on my phone, my personal PC, and my work computer are all Porsche GT4's. This has replaced the GT350 and the F-Type as the object of my affection.

I mean its a nice looking car and all, but since someone pointed out that it has both a wing and a spoiler I can't stop chuckling to myself whenever I see it.

I was coming in to post that

I really liked this thing.... now I kinda love it

The whole rear suspesnion is totally fucking different. It has ball bearing bushings. If they offered a shorter diff ratio and maybe an Akrapovic titanium exhaust it would be pretty much perfect.

I´d get it with the carbon fibre seats and the track precision app. That´s it. It's about 105K down here configured like that.
