Your perfect garage

SVT666

What is your perfect garage?  If you could have any vehicles from any year, what would be in your garage? You decide what your own parameters are.  Whether it's a maximum number of cars, or a maximum budget, or whatever.  You decide.

SVT666

My garage would include:

2005 Ford GT
2014 Shelby GT500
2016 Shelby GT350
2015 Jaguar F-Type V8 vert
2016 Porsche Cayman GT4
2015 Dodge Durango
2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat
2014 Ford SVT Raptor
Factory Five Racing Cobra replica (5.0L Coyote engine)
2015 BMW Z4

2015 Maserati Quattroporte
2015 Lamborghini Aventador
1996 Ferrari F355

I've long had a long running list of five cars I'd want, and its been oft edited, and I've often looked back at old lists at thought "what the hell was I thinking?" Anyways, my current list. (Oh, and I also keep the prices of the cars down to a non-fantasy level- not something I could afford now, but maybe, someday...)

1: Alfa Romeo GTV6.

2: 1966 Olds Toronado- for some reason, this has to be silver.

3: A Suburban from the '80s (8th Gen)- not year specific, but something exactly like this (http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/chevrolet/suburban/1725739.html) will do, Gonna need something to haul the kids and toys around with, aren't I?

4: AP1 S2000

5: A Newish F150 four door; because something's gotta haul around all the parts I'll need to keep the rest of 'em running.

Then again, I could swap out the Toronado for a BMW L6 or 635CSi, or a 2002. Could swap out the Suburban for a K5 Blazer or a Scout II or a Grand Wagoneer. Maybe give up the Alfa for an Austin Healey BN6 or (pushing the definition of non-fantasy a bit) a Lamborghini Espada.

Don't know, ask me tomorrow all the choices might be different.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

1975 Honda CB750, 1986 Rebel Rascal (sailing dinghy), 2015 Mini Cooper, 2020 Winnebago 31H (E450), 2021 Toyota 4Runner, 2022 Lincoln Aviator

"Automotive need", BS false pragmatism. You lost that argument by the second Mustang.

This is what I was thinking the thread was about.

I'm not a collector, so I have no desire to have a garage full of cars that need to be detailed and maintained but don't have time to drive them all.

My perfect garage is pretty close to what I have now - a fun daily driver (m3) and an SUV (4runner). In a "perfect" scenario maybe I'd add a fun 2 seater or ragtop, a 991 turbo or a C7 vert or something, and upgrade the SUV to a range rover.

So its your house? Lol.

My perfect garage would have a lift, a big ass air tank, hella tools, a sink and an ethernet jack so I can look up directions and shit on a laptop.

As far as vehicles? I'm keeping it real as far as what I could afford/manage/actually use in the future.

Bicycles:
Lugged steel road bike with carbon wheels and peripherals
Dept store mountain bike with good geometry for wheelies
BMX bike for tricks

Motorcycles:
SV650 punched out to 700ccs built for track duty
Speed Triple for the street/weekends/goofy track duty
Ninja 1000 for riding with wifey/wack weather commuting
Turbo K1 GSX-R750 streetfighter for the internet

Cars:
MK7 GTI for commuting
Some kind of weird one off project car (V6 W20 MR2, VQ35 Z3 shoe, J35 S2000 etc)
E350 wagon for road trips and wifey to garage shop with
Small truck or work van for hauling bikes to track days and picking up big garage shopping items
Volt for wifey's commute (she works for a power company and would get free parking and charging)

I like to only have shit I would actually use.

I've been thinking about this a lot recently and I think I've got a pretty good list that'll make me happy:

A sports sedan as the DD (M3 or a C63 probably)

A convertible for weekend top down fun (Boxster for F-type with a manual)

A bike (probably like a Honda CBR500 while I learn how to ride, then go up from there)

And last but not least, a wife with a Range Rover.

That should cover all of my bases.

Does the wife already come with the Land Rover or you'd have to get it for her. Big difference!

I´m not that much into older cars. I don't have much of an emotional desire for those. Notice also no E30 or E36 M3s on the list. I have driven both and nice, but sort of meh. Older cars IMO are objectively inferior - it's mostly the nostalgia of having wanted them a lot earlier or owning them for long (like my E46).

If anything, I would add a Spirit R/T with the 16V engine that my dad once owned.

:(

Maybe once cost and emissions force newer cars to get acceptably light and simple, I can get back into them. F8x is a step in the right direction. But barring oddballs like the 1M I dont think Ive liked an M car since maybe the E46/E89 :mask: I think I'm still bitter they didn't send off natural aspiration with a huge old school size I6 like they used to do.
