Is there a way for you to contest it?

Set up a camera in your cars from now on. Then you'll have evidence of this shit. Just like the case of the chick who was just banned for life by Uber for threatening to accuse her innocent driver of attempting to rape her.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, it's worth setting up an in car camera to protect yourself from this kind of bullshit.

Get yourself a dual-channel dash cam with a front-facing and cockpit cam.  Doesn't have to be fancy, just needs to pick up what what can be seen and, especially, heard.  It's good peace of mind for situations like this and also probably makes people behave a bit better if they know they're being recorded.

Lyft did reinstate me, and they also gave me the $150 cleaning fee.

However, I'm not driving again until my dash cam comes. I ordered a dual camera one, should be here in a few days.

Just be mindful of all applicable laws WRT to recording people.  It's generally illegal to record audio without the permission of the person being recorded.

So the recorder just has to agree with themselves? How convenient!

One person in the conversation has to consent. Plus, I'd put the monitor up and visible to everybody just so they know.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

As opposed to someone recording a conversation that they aren't a part of.

The law varies by state, but as I understand it in states where it's illegal it's usually if there is a reasonable expectation of privacy. Having a small sticker/sign up that says you are being recorded may be enough notification.

I have a couple of my home security cameras (all of which are outside) set up to record audio, and just to make sure all bases are covered I post a small/discrete sticker on a front window notifying of video and audio recording  ... this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PB8US62/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

When my uncle drove a cab back in the early '70s, he wouldn't take a take who was being picked up from a bar.  He just didn't want to deal with drunks in his car.  They're the worst.

The fact that he said that other crap is really outrageous.  People who make up false accusations against others, especially people who are vulnerable to such things, deserve to burn in the fires of hell.
A good friend will come bail you out of jail...BUT, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, DAMN...that was fun!

Bar patrons must be like 70% of people who use Uber and Lyft.
