I went through the article again, before I had just skimmed it. So the C63S time was done with a factory driver.

They don't mention it, but I'd assume same goes for the AMG GTS.

That explains quite a bit.

About the Golf R, in a recent Evo track battle with the Audi RS3, the Golf was faster. Here it is slower than little brother S3.

I don't think he drove the car and instead was there to give them pointers.  That was my take away at least.

Several companies sent personnel.  While they may have run some laps to ensure the vehicles were running correctly, I'm pretty sure all of the official times were set by C&D's drivers.

Just re-read.  The person M-B sent did not drive either of the Benzes during official lapping (likewise Jim Mero, who was sent by Chevy to keep tabs on the Vette).  He was sent to merely keep an eye on the car, make sure it was running properly, and he apparently egged the drivers on to make sure they got every last bit out of the car that they could.

S3: 3:11.3
Golf R : 3:12.3
350Z Track: 3:12.5
Mustang V-6: 3:12.5
Infiniti G37: 3:17.5

Not to mention it's cheaper equally equipped and/or more practical than any of the other 3 cars you listed. At least make some kind of effort

Link is gone, so I couldn't double check - but I swore it said 3.13 my mistake. Anyhow - No, the 350Z's base price was under 30, and the V6 Mustang starts at 23K. The Golf R starts at 35K and it's still a fucking VW GOLF.

Oh and neither car is a POS VW shitstorm, that's always a plus.

Yea, its a VW Golf that can beat thoroughbred sports cars around a race track, and also be an awesome, practical, comfortable, economical daily driver too.

Show me where on the doll a VW touched you.

I LOL's too, but the 350Z is a sports car and the Mustang tested was the Previous generation version. Fucking pathetic showing from VW as always.

Pathetic showing by beating ground up performance cars around a race track? What would constitute a good showing?

The longer you wait to open up about what a VWAG did to you the more time you will waste being a miserable prick

They brought it back. Decreased displacement with added ecoboost turbos running at 0.8 psi brings similar performance, but increases highway fuel economy by 1.1 mpg.

And how much extra hp did the stang need to beat the Golf?   how much does the G37 cost? How much does the 350z cost accounting for inflation?

That Golf could spank anything you drive around some twisties.

I think the Golf R is definitely not impressive when compared to the GTI. Not worth the premium.

Same goes for the S3 but that's nothing new for VW based Audis. Always go for the VW.

What VW did is deliver half-baked FWD based, shit cars for real car money, and people on this forum (and elsewhere) Eat. That. Shit. Up.
Unless your name is Sara, Tara, or Anna you really can't come up with a compelling reason to actually consider this car. It's 40,000 for a hopped up Mugen Honda Civic like atrocity, it that doesn't doesn't even bother to give a reach around to the poor saps who take it with no lube.

This car is such shit, it can barely outrun a 350Z from 2006, barely outrun a Mustang V6 with a speed limiter and of course it's slower and less luxurious than other cars in the same price range like the 335i and 2 series.

Fuck that car, and you too for trying to justify such a steaming pile being sold as a legitimate option for real enthusiast.

Sara, Tara, and Anna, huh?

So all your exes drove VWs, did they? I think we've had a bit of a breakthrough in your therapy today.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

If it's half baked, what are all the ground up performance and sports cars it beat

What Mugen Civic had 300HP & AWD

And if u don't like fast Golfs, I would NOT.... I repeat.... NOT look up the LL time of the TT RS, as it just MIGHT have trounced every BMW ever made before it around VIR  :mask:

I guess from henceforth track times don't matter, Mr 323i Track Build?

With glee, and with what can only be described as a willful ignorance premise, I destroy said by noting that the Golf R bested the 135i, 335is and 335i Sport Line over the history of the LL. I also note of course the Golf R is as quick or quicker in a straight line, too. BMW literally loses sleep over not being able to build a car as good as the GTI/Golf R.

How many reputation hits can a troll take? Guess we're gonna find out.
