This thing is a design disaster

Those wheels are 17" at most.  The van behind it is on 16s.

It's just an optional delusion.

I like the proportions. Details are 'meh'. Trunk opening looks like it'll be small.

2o6

I'm not sure how it's a disaster, but it's overall good

Great interior

I'm very eagerly awaiting info on the new Si, but once again, the redesigned Civic makes the ILX obsolete.

12,000 RPM

I am going to have to see what they do with it in Si trim. Not looking good now. GTI, MS3 and the surprisingly cheap Focus RS look like much better buys

Not diggin the rear 3/4 profile with that long raking roof.  It does seem to have some nice RWDish proportions, though. Interior does look nice.

Payman

Interior is a huge improvement, I'll give it that.

Cookie Monster

Wow.

Well done Honda. That interior is amazing. Even the official rear shot looks great. Supposedly it's lighter, too. Really want to see what the Si is all about.

I like the trend towards simpler, more elegant interiors. Mazda has been leading the way in this for mainstreamers.

As for the exterior, I can't get the Maxima out of my mind... overwrought, heavy, and generally awkward looking.

2o6

So, I've heard this car is a cut-down Accord.

I think Honda is just going to have two platforms; small (Fit) and Large (Accord).

Hmm... V6 swap into Civic? :partyon:

Definitely like this interior better than the tiered setup on the current car.  A minor nit, but I'm not a fan of the semi-circular tach.  Reminds me too much of the instrument panel in the Chrysler Pacifica.

Why is this not a hatch?

Because Honda is in the business of selling cars

It's in the perfect shape to be a hatch. The Focus hatch has sold quite well.

They should give it the Accord's wheel wells

Why is this not a hatch?

cuz they're faking it. trying to lure unsuspecting Americans into less and less trunksize until they finally wiseup and buy hatches

Trunk size is probably as large as the current car.  The opening will just be too small to take full advantage.

Drove the 2016 Civic non-turbo on Wednesday, and was pretty impressed. Driving dynamics and quality are greatly improved, and the styling is pretty sharp from the side and rear. The front -- to me -- looks a little small and weak in comparison, and I really don't like all the black plastic all over it. But I liked it a lot overall.

Review:
http://www.examiner.com/article/review-2016-honda-civic-ex-sedan

And in light of the trunk space discussion before, trunk volume improved a lot over last year's and the opening is also larger:

2o6

It looks a little weird from the rear, but I'm impressed overall, honestly.

Cookie Monster

Hmm, not sure if I like the taillight extensions onto the trunk lid, but other than that it looks nice.

... Nissan needs to use these shocks on the GT-R.  It would be like the Incredible Hulk wielding Thor's hammer.... unstoppable.

I know I don't like it. I hope it drives well, because nobody will buy it based on looks.
