Some teals look awesome. That Camaro a few posts up looks awesome. That Buick, though...nah. granted it has that 90s picture fade goin on, but still.

Ah yes. The old slap a new badge on the same car trick from GM.

Teal is very late-80s to mid-90s.

I also like blue, as my vehicle ownership history shows.  Every vehicle I've ever bought new, 3 bikes and 2 cars (dating back to '99), has been blue.  That was partly by coincidence, since two of the bikes I bought were only offered in blue and I really didn't buy them because they were blue.  The Jetta is the first non-blue vehicle I've owned in a decade.  The Mustang's replacement, due in a few weeks, will break my cycle of new, blue vehicles and reduce my stable to a single blue vehicle.

Teal carpet is terrible.

Guy at my redneck hardware store tried to sell me an I4 Teal Foxbody. I entertained the idea for a day because I was young and dumb (cheap car!) but it doesn't take me long to think "ugly POS"

It's just a cheap car. At least it's not a Tempo.

I had driven something like 3 cars by that point, and one of them was the Tempo/Topaz cars from driver's ed. I knew to stay away from that shit.

But the Topaz was nice. That was like a completely different car because Mercury built it special by hand with better parts and luxurious trim...

Us Ford mechanics have pet names for all the cars. Like Exploder for Explorer and so on. The pet name we had for Tempo was Tampon and Topaz was Toe-spazz. Humor is important in the work environment.

My first car was a '79 Camaro. Not the Z/28 - way outta price my range - with a year's worth of my minimum wage earnings form working at the local grocery store and a standard 2 bbl 305 was all I could muster just a couple of months before my 17th birthday. Looked nice but it had only enough power to almost get out of its own way:

As to the second gen Camaro ('70 - '81), the early years was IMO the best styled cars to ever come out of Detroit, both in and out, and the 1970 Z/28 with the 360 hp LT-1 350 V8 was the pinnacle of the bunch. '74 onward saw tacky adds-on of bumpers, spoilers, flares and graphics, though things did rebound a bit styling wise only in 1978.

1970 1/2 Z28:

I love the styling on the early 2nd gen F bodies (both Camaro and Firebird).  The later ones still looked good, but they were at their best before they got hit with the new bumper standards.  Beat the pants off the '71-'73 Mustang and Mustang II.  Really, the only generation of Camaro I didn't care for aesthetically was the 4th generation.

I really like those, too. They have a nice aggressive, forward stance.

I liked the facelifted ones. Besides, the DSG was cool as hell 12 years ago or whatever

Facelift? I see zero differences besides maybe the side mirrors and grille.

I loved my 1988 Trans Am. Maui Blue. It wasn't fast, but when you look that good, and have T-tops, you don't want to be fast. You want to be appreciated.

Blue is good.  Green is good.  Thou shalt not mix the two.  Teal sucks.

It's a Trans Am. Of course I want it to be fucking fast. You're full of nonsense.

Naw---that car was about style, not speed. That were better choices for speed. That period T/A was about cruising--and it did cruise comfortably.

For that time period it was still a pretty quick/fast car.

I wasn't impressed. My 1988 Honda Civic automatic was probably just as quick. But, my first car was a 1969 Mustang...that was like a first girlfriend. Nothing truly compares.
