In any case, I've never seen a "sporty" car like a Bimmer or Audi with steelies in the winter.  Plenty of SUVs and mainstreamers.

When I lived in Canada I saw a lot of BMW, MB, and Audi cars with steel wheels (and, I assumed, winter tires).

STI is a much better car all around.

I don't know. When I drove the comparable models years back, the STI felt dull and boring compared to the Evo. And the current STI is so ugly.

Yeah, the current STI definitely is not easy on the eyes.

They started going downhill at that point, IMO.

Even the last gen STI looked okay. This one is terrible.

I can confirm this. In fact, you're probably more likely to see something like a BMW/MB/Audi with steelies in the winter than less expensive cars, because cheap fuckers like me who drive cheaper cars don't care to buy two sets of tires and wheels.

Yep.  Not everyone can afford or wants a winter beater, but *they* can at least afford extra wheels and tires.

Such vehemence over a car that to my eye looks utterly neutral. What's to love or to hate? No forced styling details, no goofy elongated headlights, nothing trendy that will look 10 years old within 2. Not seeing it.

It's so gross.  The front is ugly, I HATE that front window/mirror treatment style, the rear over the wheel looks all wrong, the back looks droopy and fat.

I think it looks great, especially in red.

Why is it the "Final Edition"? Is the Lancer Evolution gone forever? :(

Laconian

Maybe it's a trendy Japanese name. Like Final Fantasy (despite there being like 15). Or how the 8th (or whatever) Street Fighter is called Street Fighter Zero.

Go to Germany. MOST people have a set of winter wheels/tires there.

Does Mitsubishi even have a replacement for a car of this size in the wings? The Mirage is technically a city car and not a true B segment subcompact, so it's not like they can even stretch the hell out of that to make a new Lancer.

Isn't the Lancer a C segment car?

Yeah, but VW and Nissan sometimes stretch their B cars to compete with C segment ones.

which law is that?

They're strict about speed ratings and at least all-season (mud & snow)  in the winter time. You could get by with one set all year but wouldn't be tearing up the Autobahn...
