If you have enough liquid cash, finding a Mazda 5 or Mazda 3 with a bad engine isn't that hard to do. I find at least three a week

Summit engine is $400 at junkyard. It'll get done, someday. Or 4g63t

What kind of retarded drivetrain could I put into this thing to make it RWD and not slow? Something cheap and > 200 HP. I could gut this thing, drop a solid axle in back with some leaf springs, whatever. Something with a carburetor to fuck the EPA.

I guess FWD would be easier. But how about a 4.3 V6 out of a crummy S10.

Low output pre-96 302 drive trains are dirt cheap, and easily modified. The stock axles may be a little wide for the Summit, but hey- you can't have everything.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

I can stick on some fender flares. Whatever. That's easy.
The hard part is everything else.
Luckily, Summit Racing has everything I need.

Best way to do it is buy old Mustang GT 5.0, set fire to Summit.

Ok fine.

Plan Autocross Special:
Swap in a good stock 1.5L with manual trans. Or a 1.8 if it isn't much different.
Gut it. Lighten it.
Fuckin coilovers. Alignment.
Rear discs.
Sticky tires.
Fuck it.

Only if Summit power is great enough to break all that traction.

Eye of the Tiger

I'm not sure if Summit will ever have power.

It at least has potential energy.  That's worth something to physics.

So buy an old ITA car. It's way cheaper to buy a racecar than to build one. The exception is Spec Miatas. Some of those are worth more than the sum of their parts.
