You got interior pics?

I took one of the gauges.  I tried a panoramic to try to capture the outward visibility, but it came out terrible due to the lighting conditions (sun was to my left).  I can snap a few shots when I get home from work.  Lighting may not be great, though.

Nice, I'm glad you finally got this all sorted out. Now all that's left is to enjoy it.

Love the pictures, unique color.

I must say you do get A LOT for your money with the mustang, it's a very SUBSTANTIAL vehicle. Offering TONS of value to the buyer.

I can only imagine how hard it's been for you, the weight must have been eating you alive.

I saw that green on the Ford website but I wasn't impressed with it. Seeing it on a real car sure changed my mind. That's really awesome. Now I'm not sure if I would get that green or the Ruby Red.

The web site rendering does not really capture what the color looks like IRL, and I liked the way it looked on Ford's site.  The web rendering doesn't really capture the effect of the metal flake in the paint.  It's an interesting color in that it kind of changes with the ambient light.  Even many photos don't quite capture it.  Some photos make it look kind of meh.

I really like the Ruby red as well, especially with the black wheels. Would have been tempted were it not for the fact that my Jetta is also a deep red.  After owning 2 cars that were a very similar shade of dark blue, I thought it would be odd if I replaced them with two deep red cars.  Also, I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't partially drawn to the green due to similarity to the Bullitt Mustang (though this is not quite the same green).  I also like that it's more subtle than yellow, orange, or bright red while standing out from more neutral colors like silver, white, or black.  Ruby red is similar in that regard.

I still like the outgoing car better in the looks department, but this is worth it for the wiper controls alone. Congratulations!

The new car took some getting used to for me, but now I absolutely love it. I still want a 2012 Boss 302 though (before the facelift).

I didn't like the front fascia on the '13-'14 models, though the tail lamp treatment was better than the '10-'12 models.  The back end was my least favorite part of my old car, aesthetically.  Even with the updated tail lamps, the back of the outgoing car seemed a little off to me.  It was too tall.  The Infiniti G coupe, particularly the first generation, has a similar "problem".  Back of the new car is a huge, huge improvement.  It invokes the '67-'68 more than the outgoing retro car.  New front end looks good (better in person than photos), though I think I prefer the '10-'12 front end.  I have to wonder what the car would look like if the front looked more like the '10-'12.  Then again, it was time for Ford to move on from the retro styling language and I'm glad they took that step.  I liked the retro Mustangs, particularly the '10+, but I dig the Aston-esque look of the new car too.

In many ways I find the new car more retro than the last car. But it looks more modern at the same time. Overall, I think the new car is stunning, especially the GT350.

I couldn't think of a single way in which I'd take the old car over this one. Every time I see a new one I turn my head

IMO the new front end is worse than the old front end. The new front looks a bit bloated, especially at the wrong angle.

I really like the flattened and redesigned front end on the GT350/R though. That looks amazing.

You got interior pics?

Attempted to take some photos in my garage a few days ago but the lighting sucked and only 2 of them came out any good.  Got a few this afternoon in better lighting.

The old front end didn't come down quite as much as the new one between the front axle and top of the headlights.  That extra curvature at the very front gives the new one a bit of a bloated look from some angles.  The GT350 isn't that much different in profile, really.

The '13-'14 front end seemed a bit bloated up front to me as well.  Looked like it had a fat lip (or catfish mount, as some have called it).  Even though it wasn't any taller, it made the car look taller than the '10-'12.

Whoa, I missed this til now - how come it's not in the the The Fast Lane forum? Nice color combo and definite plus on not going with leather.

I think the mustang looks amazing in its current form. Front, side, back, interior. The car is the best its ever been imo.

Wanna know how much leg room was behind the drivers seat when I drove a new Mustang?

Gah that last version looked so bad. That rear window is awful. Reminds me kind of old landau tops with the cheesy port window.

Last update for a while since the car is now officially put away for the season.  It was unseasonably warm yesterday (low 60s), so the tires were in a more optimal operating temperature, and I had enough miles on it to start opening it up a bit.  Got on the brakes moderately hard at speed a few times.  Completely different animal in terms of body motion and nose dive compared to my old one.  This will make hard braking coming into a turn much more confidence inspiring.  I can't wait for autocross season next year.  The bit of extra width will take a little getting used to, but the stronger brakes, better steering, and more planted suspension will be welcome changes.  Also curious what kind of difference the Torsen diff will make vs the clutch-based diff in my old car (or if I'll even notice any difference there).

Having experienced it first hand, I'll repeat what everyone in the press has said about this motor:  It likes to rev.  It pulls pretty strongly below 3000 RPM (stronger than my V6 did), but clear ~3000-3500 RPM and it really wakes up with a nice surge of power/torque and from there it just pulls.  Though the V6 generally seemed happy to rev, this motor is just so much smoother.  The V6 started to get a little thrashy and frantic-sounding in the last 1000 RPMs.  It was fairly easy to tell by the noise it made, and the level of NVH, that it was getting close to redline.  I was following a guy on a ZX-14 sportbike down my favorite local twisty road and I glanced down at the gauges at one point and saw the tach sweeping past 6 grand.  The motor was so smooth I had no idea it was turning that many RPMs.  I'm going to have to watch that I don't slam into the rev limiter.

Update:

Ran my first AutoX today.  Weather was far from great as it rained pretty steadily during my runs in both morning and afternoon.  Absolutely poured through two of them such that I had to have the wipers on full blast.  My best run was the last of the first heat where the rain had let up a bit partway through the heat and cars running on course helped dry things out a bit such that there was at least no standing water.  I wasn't really willing to push the car as hard as I'd have liked by virtue of the venue being a shifter kart track where spinning out or pushing off course had a 70% chance of resulting in an impact with a barrier.  Wet track, high risk of damage, and a powerful and unfamiliar car meant I left a lot on the table.  One biggie was that I ended up running the course in 3rd gear because I had a lot of trouble putting power down (and keeping things pointed in the correct direction) in 2nd.  Even in 3rd, I had to baby the throttle a bit to keep things in line and I left all of the nannies fully on.  That said, the car acquitted itself very well overall.  The ESP and TCS allow a surprising amount of slip-n-slide before cutting in, even in their "normal" (non-sport) setting, which pleasantly surprised me.  And when it broke free, it was quite progressive and easy to catch.  They put all of the known "fast" competitors (basically the folks who are usually in contention for top season points spots, myself included) for our region in the first run group to ensure we all got equal track conditions.  By the end of the heat, I was sitting in 2nd place (3rd fastest raw time) behind a late-model Audi S4 that blew everyone away.  Then the weather screwed me over.  The rain stopped for the second run group and the track dried out quickly enough that they all got 1-2 runs on a track that was nearly dry.  That allowed 3 people in group 2, who I know I could beat on equal conditions (their times when the track was wetter were well off of mine), to edge me out.  Then as run group 2's runs wrapped up, it started to absolutely pour and never really let up, so my next runs in the afternoon were on an even wetter track than in the morning.  Somehow, the guy who was 3rd fastest in my run group in the morning runs managed to find some speed despite worse conditions and knocked me out of the top 5.  All things considered, though, I was pleased with how it went.  Had group 2 had the same wet track we had in the morning, no one in that group would have overtaken me and I would have had 3rd place.  So I take this as a really promising first outing.  To run that well in pretty awful conditions in a car that was unfamiliar to me has me hopeful for great things in the future as I become more familiar with the car.

I'm just interested... how often do you have to replace your brakes when you track your car?  Do you do it yourself or do you take it to a shop?

MX793

I ran 5 seasons of autocross in my last car (7 events per season, give or take 1) and the car still had the original factory brake pads.  Autocross isn't nearly as hard on brakes as true track days since speeds are much lower.
