Always thought it was kind of funny how Pontiac got a bad rep, when the Maxima has always been Nissan's Bonneville. In the 90s it was just as cheap and simple under the skin, though admittedly the interior quality and engine refinement was a few classes above whatever GM was doing at the time.

The Maxima was in every way classier and more luxurious than an equivalent Pontiac, simple or not. Though I do agree the brand had some lookers, at least on the outside.
