Really?

I wonder how many are A3 sedans. The Giuletta doesn't have a sedan

I believe they only offer the sedan in the US.

The five door A3 Sportback is available in the US as a 1.4 litre gasoline/electric "e-tron" plug-in hybrid.

There's also a Cabriolet in addition to the Sedan.

If they're gonna cancel the Dart, then they should bring over the Giulietta courtesy of the Alfa connection.

The Dart has always been bland IMO.

Damn, that is a good looking car.

That makes zero sense.
A Thruxton has so many more uses.

Sergio is just the face of an operation that has been doomed for decades. Their last moment of strength was with the K-Car in the 80s....

:wanker:

Chrysler was very competitive in the 1990s. They started going to shit after "the merger of equals"; Daimler-Benz sucked the life out of Chrysler. They deserve more blame than anyone.

Sergio Marchionne's problem is one of brand management. He hasn't a clue what he's doing.

280Z Turbo

His problem is that he's a dumbass Italian. Passionate, provocative and outspoken, but completely stupid.

In Europe, they say the same about Americans. And are often right! See how stupid xenophobia is? Do u even know any Italians

I thought I could make fun of Italians because I'm white. Oh well.

You can only make fun of Italians if you're Italian.

That's generous. In the '90s Chrysler had some brilliance (the LH platform), some hits (Ram, Durango) and some curiosities (Viper) but if it weren't for the '80s holdovers that were the minivans and Jeep, Chrysler probably would've folded in the '90s.

Chrysler has always struggled - the well-earned reputation for shoddy reliability has dogged them for decades and in effort to differentiate from GM and Ford they unfortunately mostly managed to build vehicles that are just outside of what many/most people really want (Durango and Dakota oddly sized, Viper purposefully crude, Ram (at least 1st gen too garish)), which is okay if you can make a business of it, but being on the fringes leaves one that much more susceptible to the inevitable downturns.

That "garish" Ram saved the company much like the K-car did. Durango and Dakota also sold very well. Sales only suffered when Chrysler gave them odd proportions and horrendous styling. Now that the Durango is pretty again, their sales have recovered. Oh and the current Colorado and Tacoma are pretty much the same size as the Dakota was, so I don't know where you came up with the "oddly sized" comment.

280Z Turbo

Yeah, I always thought the Dakota was a success. The only problem with it was a shitty V6 engine and poor gas mileage.

SJ_GTI

FWIW I always thought of Sergio as Canadian, not Italian (technically he is both). When he was CEO here most of the guys he brought with him (and then left with him) were also Canadian.

SVT666

Canadians don't build cars. We should never be put in charge of a car company...unless it's me. If I was out in charge of a car company I would build nothing but RWD, manual transmission, V8 performance cars...and my company would go bankrupt. See Canadians should never run car companies.

It wouldn't go bankrupt if the cars are cheap enough....
