The honda is a proven performer, and given its design it has far surpased anyones expectations, even hard core offroaders.

Yeah, that guy was gayer than a pink 2X4.

I'll have you know that those pinks studs offer better termite protection (or something like that) than any other stud out there.

And, this seals the deal, I will definitely not by renewing my MT subscription (the biggest waste of $12 ever, this is what happens when you listen to Raza ).

My initial thought was they are trying to make up for selecting the 300 last year and the Thunderbird(?) the year before.  Honestly though, I couldn't care less what this magazine thinks is the truck/car of the year.

Last time I subscribed they did, but now they have British editor and they seem to usually be very biased against American cars.

I'm going to keep my subscription (as a writer, it's good to have as much information at your fingertips as possible, so I'm going to probably subscribe to C&D, that rag, and Road and Track as well) but I'll certainly enjoy it less.

After doing a little more research, I've come upon some pretty conclusive evidence of who Honda is trying to appeal to.  Here you can see a schematic of esteemed automotive journalist Dan Schiel (quoted by FBC a couple pages back) and the author of the Metro Journal article (quoted by Tom) on their test drive.  Visible in the picture to the discerning auto enthusiast is a load of pink 2x4's they are transporting to TBR's new ranch.
