I mean, the Z06's grilles are so small they don't even provide the necessary air to the car... :mask: :pullover:

Nah, they just got crap engine design; poor circulation.  If the Koenisegg Regara can pump out twice as much power from less displacement with no cooling issues, GM just has to spend a bit more cash to build a better engine; though they may already be working on it according to rumours. :rastaman:

RE: Giant Grilles

When was the last time therr was a truck, or even a car that had grille openings that were only large enough to provide the necessary air to the radiator and other such accessories? Something like a '95 Civic or Geo Metro comes to mind. I can't even think of a truck.

Thing is, most of these jumbo-sized grilles aren't even fully open.  Look close and you'll see they only let air through a relatively small area.  The rest is cosmetic.

Yeah, it's dumb. I want to rearrange the priority schedule more like this:

1. Lighting to meet minimum DOT requirements
2. Air intake, as required by the engine
3. Minimize aerodynamic drag
4. Space efficient packaging so it fits in a parking space
5. Impact protection/deer deflection
6. Cosmetics ... probably limited to a paint color at this point

I wonder what the perfect functional shape would look like. Keep the artists away from it. Let the engineers sculpt it.
