Its the sort of joke a 12 year old would make.

BFR doesn't bug me much for whatever reason though.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Its not funny. Its the kind of funny a 12 year old laughs at when fart jokes are too lame and he hasn't yet touched a booby.

The limited shots of the production line seen there look surprisingly standard, even anachronistic in some ways.

I'm not really surprised I guess, but kinda disappointed.

So are we taking bets here? I'm betting either another round of funding, bankruptcy, or someone buys Tesla. One of the three in 2018.

Someone buys them.

Either VW or GM.

I'm guessing they'll get downgraded again, followed by a big drop in stock value and a buy out. My bet is VW. They'll roll in and clean house, evaluate how bad it is, then drastically reduce forecast and slowly raise the price.

I don't think so.  They're missing production targets but they still have product coming through and mass refunding of deposits has not occurred.  They may run out of money but a Silicon Valley type company will invest heavily in them and keep them afloat.

What Tesla needs is an administration in Washington that's a little more enlightened and friendly to its great & noble cause: so... a $7/gal gasoline tax.

(It would be called  the "Climate Responsibility Investment" to make it acceptable to the great unwashed.)

I had a mind spaz and thought for a second Obama would encourage a purchase by FCA but then I remembered.

I could see GM riding in on a white horse. IDK about by the end of 2018 though. Dont see a Silicon Valley swooping in either. Unlike a conventional tech startup their problems are very public.

Tesla has a new showroom in Alpharetta that's so cool & beautiful & stylish. It's about 30 yards from Apple's new store, that's cool, beautiful & stylish.
How about Apple buying them?

No way. iPhone margins don't exist in automotive. They're similar in terms of design and branding, but one makes a boat load of money, the other doesn't

And yet Google really wants to get into the autonomous car game; and like in the past, Google has purchased competitors and rolled them into their own brand, the idea might be tempting to them; or Apple.

Google will just make the software and maybe equipment. Relatively cheap variable cost. Once they nail it down, they'll sell it to oems for $10k a car or something. Building a car is tough, I don't think google wants anything to do with that, right?
