Morris Minor

Mrs Morris deals with this stuff all the time for the OTC pharma industry - regulatory compliance consultant: GMP, procedures, labeling, listings with with FDA.
It's astounding what some of the small manufacturers get up to - and the FDA isn't even close to having the resources to chase down all but the most egregious.

On an anecdotal note: she's on Thyroxine tablets and has to use the brand name - generics are too inconsistent & imprecise in the dosing.

See if she can find a generic made in the same plant as the brand.  Those will literally be the exact same tablets.  We do a lot of generic and brand stuff.

What's all this about Elon needing to review every single piece of spending no matter how small?  I've got to imagine nothing will get done because it will take too long

They raised $2.5B a few weeks ago.  Said they didn't need it, it was just in case things went south next year in the auto industry or the tariff war, etc.  Less than 2 weeks later, Elon says they'll be bankrupt in 10 months at the current run rate, including the $2.5B they didn't need.

  Just delaying the inevitable at this point.

Receivership + fired Musk + 400 mile range + legit ~$40k price point + profitability = viability. The latter three don't happen without the former two, so might as well get to it.

There's waaaay too much liability outstanding for anyone to take over.  From the $420 funding secured civil lawsuits, to all of the other pending defamation and lemon cases, they need to file to just clean the slate.

How are you going to explain all these trading losses to your wives?

That is the main source of my stress! She is breathing down my neck because I keep having to transfer more money into my account to avoid a Margin Call. She asks if I'm going to hold to 0?!? She doesn't understand this is not Sears. TSLA is growing at a ridiculous rate and therefore the stock price has to bounce if the growth continues (and there is NO reason to think it won't).

Options trading is going to absolutely ruin the lives of some of these zealots.  It's sad but funny.  I can't not watch the car wreck.

At a loss, apparently.  And do you think their cars would be as desireable if they had a bowtie or blue oval on them?  Those cars sell as much on brand appeal and the cult of Musk as they do their actual merits as cars.

It depends

BEVs are cool right now and cool vehicles are the only things D3 can sell. The Volt/Bolt were completely uncool but some BEVs with more style and pizzazz could be.

This is crap... Up until Tesla, EVs were slow buckets of crap that didn't convince anyone to switch to electric.  Tesla created cars that have practical ranges, charging grids to refuel , great styling, and ridiculous levels of performance.  They give people a reason to make the switch to electric.

Anyone could have built a Model S. Thing is, with a Toyota, GM or other established automaker, it would have been corporate malfeasance to have done so (plus of course no one would have bought it). There is simply no business case for it, as Tesla is proving.

Tesla cars use tech designed decades ago used in industrial applications. Tesla's only claim to fame is convincing many that the king actually is wearing clothes (when in fact he is not).

GoCougs

Tesla share price down ~50% in the last six months.

Model 3 demand is waning, Model S and X sales are down, and Model Y is two years out. The other Funny Business - Musk's psychosis, deadbeat regulators, the recruiting/talent black hole  - all matter but not as much. Tesla; and EVs in general; remain a nonviable business *r0tor shrug*.

The question is, What are YOU going to do with the windfall from your short positions?

No case for the best selling lux sedan? Oh my

GM and Toyota are still selling electric powered dumpsters.  Tesla has the best battery tech currently in the business and probably are a decade ahead of most in terms of autonomous driving... But yea, nothing to see there

Mostly gimmicky tech that's not up to automotive standard, plus marketing of existing tech making it seem cooler than what it is, sounds like Apple...  And even the autopilot isn't the best in the market, just most well known and also done in probably the most irresponsible way in term of the name of the technology plus implementation.  There are better autonomous driving techs out there such as the "Super Cruise" that Cadallac has, that's not done as irresponsibly as what Tesla implemented.

r0tor

So good marketing now makes your actual product bad?  Good grief this world is sad...
