I'd be OK with a 100% pure EV in a two-car stable. Not a sacrifice at all. My brother's family has a RAV-4 to complement the Bolt, but all the miles except for the maybe-yearly trip to OR or UT end up on the Bolt. Kids get screamy and need to pee every 3 hours, so it works fine for them.

You know, I started typing out an argument about how wasteful it'd be for me to have to take the Explorer on road trips if I had a Tesla sitting at home to avoid extra long fillup stops, but if I'm honest, I'd need the extra space or capability for most of my longer trips anyway, so maybe it's a moot point (at least until I can afford a Rivian ;)).

Yeah, I'm with Sporty on this one. It's the main reason I'd rather get a PHEV than a pure EV right now.

I've been saying this shit for years.

Right, because you can't stop to eat and stretch in an ICE car :nutty:

You drive 50 mph on road trips? And you need 40 minutes to stretch your legs?

Yeah, I can easily picture range really falling with the way I drive, say to DC. I generally have the music blasting, and I go like 75-80 the entire way. And if it's summer, the AC is blasting

Fairly impressive what an electric car can do when backed up with a well established charger network and useful nav interface

I don't know why he said he was born in 1963 in the video, but there's no way. Check out some of his earlier videos. The one below was only from 8 years ago and he was definitely not in his late 40s. Plus I found a video where he mentioned that he owned an Integra in high school.

A couple random sites have his birthday listed as 1989, but I don't know how reputable those sites are.

They make the best sense at the moment for all round use.

If I had a garage and they were cheaper, an EV would be great commuter car.

Let's see... When I drive 400 miles on vacation to the outer banks it usually takes 7+ hrs and we stop to eat for breakfast and lunch

Another disaster "earnings" report after record shipments. Much worse than any analyst expected -$1.12/share expected on an average -$0.31/share expected. TSLA down ~15%.

At this point it's performance art, and not only those juicy quotes from Musk.

SJ_GTI

I hate to agree with Gougs, but it looks pretty bad from an outside point of view.
