The truck is something clearly designed by people who have very little exposure to trucking in any capacity; although if the end intent is to remove the trucker from the truck, that may not be a bad thing.

As a truck that needs a driver, this is a pretty big failure.

Roads have load limits (both per axle and total).  The heavier your rig, the less cargo you're permitted to carry.

Niether a focus or F350 are near the legal limit on total weight, so it doesn't matter.

Big rigs can (and do) reach that total legal limit (80k lbs IIRC), so if the truck itself is 10k lbs heavier on average it would have to reduce that with lighter loads overall.

TBH I am not sure what a typical rig weighs. As a general rule of thumb we do not put more than 35k lbs on any single trailer.

I'm not talking about truckers camping the left lane at exactly the speed limit or 5 under.  I'm talking about trying to merge onto a highway when the vehicle in front of me on the ramp is a big rig struggling to get to 45 mph before the end of the ramp on a 70 mph highway, and myself similarly being held to <45 mph while trying to merge with traffic going near double my speed.

That is a shit situation, but you have 400+ HP Just find your gap, drop to the right gear and mash out.  I will say that in NYC onramps were frighteningly short at times.
