2020 BMW 1 Series Hatch Interior Caught Completely Undisguised

There is little time left before BMW officially uncovers the all-new 1 Series hatchback, the first one ever to feature a front-wheel-drive platform.

We've already seen many spy shots of the 2020 BMW 1 Series, as well as two photos of an uncensored M135i xDrive model. There's not much left to hide, really, and BMW seems to be aware of this. Maybe that's why this latest prototype spotted at the Nürburgring features a rather light camouflage.

Looking at the aggressive body kit and blue brake calipers, the prototype seems to be the M135i xDrive range-topper we've already seen uncovered.

This shifts our focus to the interior and our photographers have supplied us with the most revealing photos of the cabin we've seen so far. The dashboard is clearly inspired by the latest 3 Series and features a driver-oriented center console, an all-digital instrument panel (at least on this particular car), and a center infotainment screen nicely integrated on top of the dash.

We also get a clear look at the sporty multifunction steering wheel wrapped in leather and the area around the automatic transmission knob. As always, it features the rotary controller for the iDrive infotainment system surrounded by shortcut physical buttons, as well as driving mode buttons, start/stop switch, and DSC/DTC deactivating button.

Overall, the interior looks more upscale and high-tech than what the outgoing model offers. The main advantage of switching to an FWD/AWD platform will be a more efficient interior packaging that will enable the third-generation BMW 1 Series to offer a more spacious trunk as well as more room inside, especially for rear passengers.

The all-new BMW 1 Series is expected to debut later this year, likely at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September.

If that's undisguised, they should think about disguising it.  It looks horribly cluttered.  It's a car, not 737.

The body looks ok. Interior also looks good. Can't wait to see the undisguised product. ;)
