Peugeot Boxer 4×4 Concept Is One Rugged Camper Van

The Le Bourget recreational vehicle show is not exactly a petrolhead's go-to kind of event. However, we will keep a close eye on this year's edition that's held near Paris, France, between September 28 and October 6, as Peugeot will be presenting the new Boxer 4×4 Concept.

Based on the Boxer L3, the study boasts a rugged exterior with plastic cladding, BFGoodrich off-road tires, 30 and 50 mm (1.2-2 in) increased ground clearance at the front and back, respectively, and Wanderlust Green paint. Providing extra illumination at night are eight LED modules fitted above the windscreen, which come from the 508 mid-size family car.

Inside, the Boxer 4×4 Concept features four distinct zones consisting of the driver's station, a dining and kitchen area, a sleeping area and a bathroom, and can accommodate three occupants. Peugeot has added many storage spaces to keep the equipment secure, whereas some of the interior trim, made out of recycled plastic, along with the Alcantara Greval Grey upholstery complete the look. The vehicle also gets a 9-inch Alpine infotainment system with Waze navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity.

A BlueHDi diesel engine provides sufficient power to attack "the steepest slopes", according to Peugeot. The mill churns out 165 PS (163 hp / 121 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque, channeled to all four wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.

Finally, whenever occupants want to explore nature, they can do so using the company's eBike electric bicycle that's stored at the back, or the walnut canoe carried on the roof rack.

Lol, a diesel 4x4 camper that would no doubt cost $150k+, with an "eBike" in the back, and an old growth walnut canoe on the roof. Who the hell would this be for?
