Eye of the Tiger

This morning, I was wondering why scooty suddenly ran even better than yesterday. Then I remembered adding the octane booster last night. Shit werks.

Damn exhaust bolts keep rattling loose, despite lock washers and blue thread locker.

Maybe I can get some of these...

You need the high temp loctite.  Or a deformed-thread lock nut.

Regular lockwashers don't really do anything.

Yeah, I only had blue thread locker on hand. A deformed locknut might work. Or I can just do some tack welding.

Doing a choke/enricher delete. It starts fine without the stupid thing.

Should probably do a manual petcock, too.

Choke/enricher delete:
Removed the electronic automatic enricher, removed the thermostatically-extending needle from the tip, placed it fully into the orifice, and sealed the entire thing with black RTV silicone.

Why do you deny scooty enrichment?

The crummy thing doesn't work half the time, gets stuck open or closed, and pulls unnecesary amps from the weak electrical system.

Twist the throttle a couple of times to squirt gas from the accelerator pump, and the cold engine cranks up on the second or third try.

The 49cc "moped": a great "fuck you" to this local government that has fucked me over so many times, and continues to do so. No title. No property taxes. No insurance. Just a $10 two year registration to the state.

I might get another 49cc "moped" just to double the fuck.

You live in one of those places where cars are subject to "property tax"?

I owed over $1000 on my Fiesta from when I had it in storage, because I didn't know an unregistered, uninsured, stored vehicle was subject to taxes. That's why I said fuck it and let it get repo'd.

Scooty is now 72cc, but the only way to tell is to remove the cylinder head and take measurements.  :pullover: :evildude:

It would be neat to try running the scooty motor on straight methanol, or building a new motor with stupid high compression.

I think a second scooter running on an alternative fuel would be a cool, and affordable project. How about propane? :mask:

Others with 49-50 cc scooters might want to boost their power as well.  Might make a good sideline.

Maybe something that would be cool ... a two-stroke 125cc engine, like from a shifter kart or a dirt bike. Those easily put out over 30 HP at a jizzillion RPM.

Of course, a regular 150cc scooter drivetrain costs under $300 new, and practically drops right in
