You are correct.

A knot is a knot; specifically a knot in a log line that's 7 fathoms from the next knot. You throw the log in, and count how many knots are unspooled in 28 seconds; and that's how fast you're
going.

Yeah, I knew it had something to do with knots on a rope but I was too lazy to look it up.

A video of Nick throwing a log & knotted rope off the back of his scooter would be an acceptable substitute for 1/4 mile data.

I can get one, but only if he uses a 14 second glass and doesn't exceed 28 knots.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

But then you have to account for drag, friction coefficient of spruce vs birch, mass of the log/rope assembly...

Or just go with the tried and true 9.8m/s squared. Of course, that means driving off a cliff.

Eye of the Tiger

There will be no knots for now. It seems to have lost compression. I made it a few miles this morning, then it started running crappy then quit. I had to push it home.

The intake valve had zero lash. Other than that, everything looks good. Spontaneous valve unadjustment. Huh.

Well that explains why the air filter was getting soaked in oil. I suppose the intake valve had been tight for a whilez and finally just decided to stay open.

Zero lash?  Was it not properly sealing closed, before it decided to stay open?

Anybody around there have a pre-'72 slant 6 powered vehicle for sale? A rusty old Valiant or Dart, maybe. Most dependable junk on Earth. What happened to the radiator for the Jeep?

Too expensive.
I ordered a new valve kit and a 47mm big bore kit, which will put it at 72cc, all for $31 shipped.

And then my checking account got overdrawn, so add a $25 overdraft fee to that.
