Fiat may bring more models to US

Fiat isn't going to set the US sales charts on fire with an EV-only compliance car, and they know it.  The only reason the 500e exists in the US at all is to satisfy California's EV mandate for the Stellantis group.

There's talk of bringing over the 500e Convertible, which would at least be the only relatively affordable convertible EV on sale in the US.  But the real news is Fiat is developing a hybrid powertrain for its newest 500 and it may very well come here.  The reason for Fiat's sudden decision to offer a hybrid is due to buyer resistance to EVs from many European consumers.  It seems Europe's all-out push for EV adoption isn't going exactly to plan.

Fiat is also considering importing the larger 600 as a companion model to the 500.  This bigger, four-door car may be a better fit for American buyers than the tiny 500.  The new Panda is also being considered for America, too.

It looks as though Fiat hasn't given up on the USA just yet.
