Very VERY few will buy it, cock blocking tariffs, manufacturing move to Europe, or whatever.

$44k seems pretty competitively priced

Quote from: MrH on December 10, 2024, 07:28:27 AMI thought 3rd gens were like 250 kW?  Not many cars are able to accept more than that.  Lucid, the Korean twins, and the Taycan?  Is that it?

Teslas use high current, Lucid and the Korean cars use high voltages.

The batteries need to be supplied their native voltage somehow - either directly from DCFC or from an intermediate transformer step - or else they'll just discharge.

Yeah, high voltage seems to be the future.  I'm at 150 kW for the truck so none of it matters to me.

Lucid is making some really appealing products though.  Maybe one day I would own one if they survive.

I really hope Lucid survives. They hired Cory Steuben away from Munro & Associates and I see a lot of his influence behind the parts reduction & packaging cleverness in the Gravity.

I thinnnk CT does 800V natively but it can rewire its 2x400V series packs to work in parallel for 400V charging compatibility.

High voltage is great, lots of efficiency gains all around.
