That's how you do a special edition Mustang.  Too bad they aren't for sale.

I saw this at the auto show.  It looked great! :)

That grille treatment is so ugly!

Looks too retro with the paint, grill, and hood pins.

It's nice to see that Hertz is keeping the tradition of rental car abuse alive.

I once heard that back in the 60s, guys would rent those Shelbys and return them with some puny 2 barrel carb'd 260 or something like that under the hood. :P

They would do that or take them to the drag strip on the weekends and come home with a trophy B)

So far, this is my favourite version of the new Mustang (except with a manual tranny).  It looks awesome, and it has extra power, and better suspension.  This would be my Mustang of choice right now if they sold it to the public.

I don't care for the grille or the hood pins (I think the GT500 and regular GT are the best looking versions of the current Mustang), but I think it'd be a nice alternative to renting a Taurus.  ;)

You're my age.  We're getting old.  Plus, now that you're married, your life expectancy has gone way down, since you're more likely to be poisoned by your wife.

This is a nice photo. It also makes me love the original Mustang even more.

The original looks almost docile and tame next to the new one.

Catman

What's the point if only Hertz gets them?

Hertz got all of the originals back in the 60's.

I suppose if you're a person that buys rentals from the companies after they're done with them it's a good thing... ?

Or perhaps you would just rent it and have one helluva weekend without having to pay for the entire car...?  I see the appeal in that!

Me and a friend planned out our supposed US road trip holiday. Hiring a Crown Victoria was going to be somewhere around US$1500-1800 for 20 days.

Who do I have to screw to get this for, like, $800?  :D

Laconian

Who do you have to screw? Avis, maybe? Cars are seriously cheap to rent here. I got a Town Car for $40 a day from Dollar in Hawaii.

... and a red Mustang vert for $100 :P

You mean the original looks exactly like the new one (except nicer)?
