That is so not the case around here... A4s are all over the place.
Yep, I've been to Chicago many times. It was similar to Montreal (where A4's are as common as 3ers). But in South Jersey Audi's are pretty rare (only two dealers in all of South Jersey...one in Atlantic City and one in Cherry Hill...and since I work in Cherry Hill it works out nicely for me).

QuoteDid she get to see the XJ yet?
Nah, we've been busy.  I have to take her, since she doesn't know anything about cars, and wouldn't know what questions to ask.

There's a place that's close, but they do test drives on a track, which is fine when you're flogging the shit out of an MR2 Spyder, but not great when you want to see the ride over rough pavement of a luxury car.

Yup, the next town over from mine has the largest Audi dealer in the country, and they claim in the world (but I don't believe it). It's big nonetheless. Although, Audis stay away from the "in your face, I'm rich" theme that Mercedes, BMW, and those have better.

Raza

Now she wants to wait.  My dad's car is on the chopping block now!

He's willing to consider Audi!

Oh, and the XJR!  For so long he wouldn't even walk into a dealer and look at it, but I shoved the brochure down his throat and got him to think about it.

I personally believe that the A8 is easily the best car in that class.

I'm going to keep my car forever but if I ever become rich I'm going to have an A8 and Boxster S in my garage.

Audis and Jags are the best looking luxury cars imo.  Modern bmws and mercedes don't do it for me.

JYODER240

The Quattroporte in the best looking luxury sedan IMO, followed by the A8, the XJ.

To each his own, but I don't think any of the competition matches the A8s beauty, elegance, and interior.

It's dynamically comparable to a 7-Series and it has a great engine.

I 100% agree.

Wait, wait.. somebody mentioned the Quattroporte? GENIUS! I would get THAT over an XJ, easily!!

If your dad got a Flying Spur over a Quattroporte, I'd cry.

It's also around up to $40K more expensive than the XJ.

They're considering the Flying Spur, so it is within the price range.

You mean you're going to keep your car until it puts you in the poor house?

The A8 is quite a good car, but it's also the heaviest in its class, and the most subdued.

He's not going to buy a Quattroporte--it's Italian, and therefore, it will fall apart within a week of buying it.  The Flying Spur is a Volkswagen, and therefore will last nigh forever.

Think more like 20 over the XJR, and on par with the Super V8 Portfolio.

Hehe, there may be a little bias in that statement.

Though, the Passat has been the most reliable car I've ever owned...

I say he should get a black on black XJR. It would be the coolest car on the block, easy.
