That's really cool.

Only thing I don't like from what Ive read so far is how they had to reposition te gas pedal.

EDIT: Only the "build-up" page works, all others are dead.

My friend is building an FC RX-7 for the same competition this year.  2006 dollars, though.

I never suspected one could fit a V8 into that thing!

Theirs is nuts.  I'll try and find the videos for it.  It's a complete rebuild.

An RX-7 without a rotary is useless to me.

Well, fast isn't everything. If you take away the rotary, it's no long a rotary, so the R goes away, and it's no longer a rotary experiment, so the X goes away, and it's certainly not the seventh rotary experiment if it's not even a rotary experiment, so the 7 goes away.  What are you left with?  "    ".

A light-weight, rwd, Japanese chasis? Those aren't that common you know... what are your choices.... an old Nissan Z car or newer 240 SX? A Miata? I get your point, but let them have their fun!

V8 Miata conversions have been going on ever since the Miata first came out.  I know a guy in Edmonton with a 5.0L Miata that runs 10s in the 1/4 mile.
