Speaking of that, I drove my friend's 2002 Altima the other night and there were way too many damn buttons on the wheel to easily use cruise. Also, why the hell do some car manufacturers feel the need to not light up steering wheel controls? I hate having buttons in cars that aren't backlit at night.

My Maxima is not lighted and it sucks.  The Sequoia lights up though. :praise:

Geez, how many buttons do you need on your steering wheel?

Otherwise fantastic.  Looks great inside and out.

Ever see the steering wheel on a Pontiac 6000 AWD?  The whole center area (where the airbag in a modern car would be) is completely filled with buttons.

:pee: People who have incorrect opinions.
If you say so... I think the front looks disproportional.

Here are some more pics:

I hope to find other real-life pics.

Are they still going to offer it with the Vortec 5300?

A V8 will come at some point, but it will be quiet.
They don't want to saddle it with the "guzzler" stereotype from the get-go.

Hate to break it to you but any GM SUV will be hailed as the bane of human existence by the greenies even if it's powered by hamsters.

fabulous.  I'd love to see some other colors.  some variety of red I'm willing to bet would look great.
Overwhelmed as one would be placed in my position

I think they've decided to kill the 4200. They aren't putting it in the GMT900s and the GMT360s are on their way out.

3.6L V6, ~270-275 HP
That's pretty respectable, but a 315hp V8 with cyl.deac. would be sweet.

Couldn't agree more. I wouldn't be surprised if the mileage hit was barely noticable to boot. That engine gets best in class mileage in the Tahoe and Silverado.

What engine does it have?

The 4200 I6?
No, a 3.6L V6 with VVT that makes 275HP.

I do not think it is direct-injected, as they seem to be saving that for the 2008 CTS; a car about which--to digress--Edmunds' Chief Editor had this to say today:
QuoteLast but not least, I got a super sneak peek at the final production version of the 2008 CTS. The car will debut at the Detroit show, and thus I can say nothing about it.

On a complately unrelated note: WOW! COOL!

Nice to see a proper dead pedal. :ohyeah:
That has actually been a GM weak-point.
That, and side bolsters.

You're listing dead pedals and side bolsters as the GM weak points? Being a little generous now, are we?

Big flashy chrome wheels and grilles is rather crass, but it's not entirely bad.

I'd prefer the Outlook.
