Canadian Supercar, Eh? You bet.

That looks sweet.  I would still supercharge the Accord V6 cause 240 hp is not enough.

"On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high." - Ayrton Senna

Wow, that's not an expensive kit at all.

However, the FFR Cobra + 1987 Stang GT would probably be cheaper, since a used Accord V6 manual would probably command a good amount of cash on the used market.

It's much better looking then what the first picture in this thread shows.  However it doesn't look like they completed the interior in time.

Where did this topic go from a supercar to a fucking accord

How come Canada can make the car for so much cheaper that everyone else? I'm sort of scepticle about this thing's quality. I mean, Plethora?

That's not an inspiring name. Why not just save the trouble and go with "Mediocre!"

There's a slight difference between an Accord and a sportscar powered by a Honda V6. And what's cheap about a $250,000 fibreglass car powered by a crate V8?

Is this a serious post?

This is a fiberglass car powered by a Honda V6.

The Lotus Elise is powered by the 1.8 Toyota motor, does that mean that if I post a thread about one in here I'm posting about a "fucking Toyota Celica"?

Jeez kid.

No it wasn't a serious post. I'm just sayin let's talk about this car. There was hardly anything said about it before its topic got highjacked.

Because the people promissing the same performance seem to be doing so for much more. Noble? Saleen? Koeniggseg? etc... The story compares it to the Bugatti Veyron, which costs, shit, more than 5 times as more. Another poster has mentioned the F1, which costs a lot more as well. I'm just sayin, how is this company doing it for so much more less? I'm guessing there must be some sort of difference in quality, or durability, but I don't know for sure. It's name, Pleathora, leads one to an assumption though...

Exactly.  All of those other companies can charge that much because they are also selling an image that goes with their name.

Noble has almost no reputation in the US, and you can build a kicking M12 in the US for 56K plus running gear.  Saleen is a name that is foreign to non-enthusiasts.  Koenigsegg?  Most people wouldn't even know how to begin to pronounce it.

What is an image-unconscious person like myself supposed to do for pure driving enjoyment without all the hassles of people coming up to me and asking me about my car? What's the best supercar I can get for the least amount of money, regardless of the brand name?

I would just build one from scratch, but I don't have those kind of tools. Lotus 7/Caterham kit car perhaps?

Factory Five's cheapest kit is about 12 grand.  Add a donor 1987-1994 Mustang GT, and work from there.  You can build a Locost for about 2 grand they say, if you can do all the work yourself.

I have an info pack from them. Their new '65 MKlll can be built with a '94-2004 donor.

Yeah, this thing weighs something like 1800 lb and does 0-60 in 4.0 seconds with a mildly modded Accord V6.
If I remember correctly, the kit is $17,000 US and requires only a doner Accord. Of course there are lots of options like a convertible top, side windows, A/C, hard top, custom wheels, etc.? But the important thing is you can have a kick-ass street machine for the price of a loaded Accord.
I just read about the K1 Attack on their website.  This is what I found out:

? Attack Roadster V6-SX standard equipment 60.900.- EUR (+VAT) $78,962.9 US Dollar ($93,209.4 Canadian Dollar)
? Attack JD-R Racing Edition 320hp/335Nm, FIA hom. 71.600.- EUR (+VAT) 92,836.6 US Dollar ($109,586 Canadian Dollar)
Who knows what it would actually cost to import it.
? Engine 3.0 V-6, 242hp/300Nm
? Gearbox short 6 speed manual
? Length 4040 mm (159,0 inch)

For the record, in the K1 Attack you take a FWD drivetrain (engine+tranny+driveshafts+accesories+electronics) and bolt it in transversely like a FWD car but behind the drivers compartment... resulting in a nice compact mid-engine RWD layout with IRS.  In the US you must buy it as a kit car and assemble it and register it as a kit car since its not EPA or DOT approved.

there was some publicity at the philly autoshow a year or two ago where some high school kids took the chassis and put a TDI VW engine in it and completely embarrased all the greenie hybrid cars in the fuel mileage category for less money and while having more performance.

indeed it is as K1 is actually a manufacturer in CR and sells the car as a car.  We need to import it as a kit, which is around $17k
