I agree, it does look better than the sedan. But, I am still a bit worried about the new Passat, early reviews have indicated that it is soft, boring, and quiet. In other words: a less reliable Camry.

In most cases I like a lot of wood, and for the most part it isn't bad, but the wood around the guages doesn't look quite right due to the curve. If they did a standard instrument binnacle instead it would look much better imho.

I also prefer dark colors (though black is typically a bit too dark for my tastes, I prefer either dark brown or dark gray).

IMO, I think its your average candy bar in a waxy cheap plastic cover.  Except its metal in this case, as you stated.

That is one good looking wagon.  I'd prefer a slightly shorter rear overhang, but other than that, looks great.
