Hard to get good pictures of this car because people kept getting in the way.? It's pretty cool.? I gotta get those seats when I get another Stang cause they are extremely comfortable and supportive.

Its a great looking car. I just wish it was lighter and more nimble.

Yeah, however it's not a sports car, don't forget that.

After you wake up with the sun at 6am on someone's floor, coughing up cigarette butts and tasting like warm beer, you may well change your opinion on this matter.

I know but I wish they were. Ultimately that why I didn't get a Mustang GT its handling was just too sloppy.

I found the handling of the GT to be quite good, even moreso after being lowered.

It was a massive improvement over the previous generataions, but when I was comparing it to 350Z's, S2000's, and RX-8's it still fell short.

Which are all sports cars.? Two of which are a lot smaller then the Mustang.  Besides, I firmly believe that if handling is why someone doesn't chose a Mustang, then the Mustang is definitely the wrong car for that person becaue that's not what the Mustang is all about.  It's about being loud, crude, and in your face with gobs of torque and a platform on which to build an even faster car.

Only one is a Sports car, one is a GT, and the other is a 4-door :P

Hemi, do you have any pics of your former Mustang?  A wee bit off topic, I know.

I do, but they need scanning in.  I'llpost them when I have some time to dig them out.  I don't keep them out because I can't stand to look at them, if that makes any sense.

Cobra93

I like everything about it except that shifter.

Yeah, it's a little hard to grip.  But hey, what do you expect for $54,000?

TheIntrepid

Well my Intrepid's speedometer goes to 260 I believe... that means it's as fast as this GT500 of course. :P

Catman

This car does not interest me at all.  I'd much rather have a reg GT and throw a couple grand in for a lowering kit and some custom wheels/tires and maybe a couple of other mods.  This one is too heavy and in my eyes doesn't look as good in the front as a reg GT.

I'm more excited about the Bullit concept. :ohyeah:

Or the Boss that comes out for 2008.  I have stated it in another thread, but my favourite production Mustang is the Shelby GT.

Catman:? CatDude, check out the Shelby GT in the April '07 Motor Trend--it's got what you seek and a lot more.  It does have a drawback:  235s on 18X8s :(, but you yank those the day you buy it and store 'em in the attic for thirty years from now when you take it to Barrett Jackson and sell it for waaayy more--maybe several times more--than you paid for it waaayy back in 2007 :tounge:

On Motor Trend's website you can see and hear the Shelby GT in action :ohyeah:

Yeah, I like that a lot more than the GT500.  The ride height is perfect.  I might prefer no stripes though.

I remember the first road test done by Car and Driver or Motor Trend (can't remember which) of the GT500 and they complained about the "boy racer" stripes.  Then two months later in a review of the GT500 vert in the same magazine by the same author, he complained about the lack of stripes and admitted that he missed them.
