So this is the 2008 WRX. Glad I bought the 07!

maybe they just ran out of ideas.
Or they were on crack while designing it.

These high beltline designs are getting ridiculous, including this car.  If you've never been in an older Impreza, you sit pretty low as it is.  The high beltline makes the wheels and tires look small and the styling is nothing to write home about.  Honestly, I think Subie will revise it about 2-3 years into the model run, but in the meantime, this car is fugly.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

Well there are only so many possibilities for a hatch design. The sedan looks fine, but there are always some people that will like the hatch. Hell, the Aztek sold.

lol, that's awesome.  I wonder what first year sales will look like.  If they're dismal, the enthusiasts will be proven correct.  But if they take off like a rocket or even stay steady with current figures...I dunno, I think most of it is overreaction to change, but overall the current car has tons more character, and if Mitsubishi really makes a Ralliart Lancer to compete with the WRX it could be a bad year for Subaru.

The Aztec is also infinitely more disgusting.  At least the sedan looks like a Corolla, the Aztek looks like it was drawn up by Helen Keller.

Haha. I made this girl so sad once. She had just gotten back to school with a new car: the Aztek, and I made the mistake of saying, "I know people talk a lot of shit about, but I don't think it's that bad."

Her face just melted, she had no idea what I was talking about.

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

Most of the time, when people buy or gush over a car I don't like I just keep my mouth shut, especially if they're a non-enthusiast. People (enthusiast and non) view their cars personally, and an attack on their car can feel like an attack on them.

It definitely does.  I don't have kids.  But I do have cars.  It's like if I had kids and someone insulted them.  Or if you kicked my dog.

Or hell, if you kicked my car.  I'd have to lay down some hurting.

Yeah, it's not great but after seeing it at NY I didn't think it was quite as bad as I originally thought.

r0tor

I was at NY yesterday... the hatch didn't look nearly as bad as the pics (it actually looks very wagonish), the sedan was OK but nothing spectacular

I am hoping to drive one when the local dealer pics them up in August.  I will probably like it, but for now I am still a bit disappointed with the blandness of it all.  It's growing on me though, and really what Subaru has ever really looked just right?  Even the handsome Legacy has some points I would change.

Teuton, check this front bumper out:? https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/product_info.php?cPath=33_68&products_id=836

If shipping weren't $105 and I had a working car as we speak, I would be the proud owner of the V4 bumper.  Instead I'm getting a V5-6 (The American spec RS) bumper cover because it is currently FAR cheaper.  I can get one for around $150 plus taxes from a junk yard or the dealership.

I'm a little giddy about the widebody GC Impreza, though.
