I'm surprised at how attractive Hyundai models are becoming, design-wise.

My dad had a rental Sonata for a few days, which I drove extensively. I really liked the car, it would be great non-enthusiast transportation. This particular rental had the 4 cyl engine with power sunroof, decent stereo, and the usual power goodies. It had 30K miles, and still felt really tight; both with interior quality and the driving experience.


I'd certainly recommend one to somebody looking for solid A to B transport, and in fact would consider one myself.

Has he looked at the Fusion at all? I've not driven one, but it's got Mazda 6 underpinnings, and seems to be a good car for the money.

Looked at a Fusion, but he didn't fit well, and he hated the styling. I found it odd some of the cars he disliked while liking the xB styling.

Quality and reliability are miles apart too. I'm impressed with the progress Hyundai has made in the last ten years, to put it mildly.

Fair dues.  But the Sonata is pretty dull too.  What about an Impreza?
