Nitrogen In Tires?

i believe an answer to the question is if you look at the mass of stuff filling the tire at 0 psi, its going to be pretty irrelevant to the mass of the stuff filling the tire at 30-40 psi.

Unless you suck it out with a very powerful vacuum pump, there is still air in the tire.

Which is likely to suck the beads of the tire off of the wheel rim.

yes sir. it's pretty hard to find 10" tubeless tyres.

How does that do for you?  I knew a guy who used squirrel puree when I was in college.

It works very well, but it's a mess if you have a blowout.

Just fill them with foam and be done with it. :ohyeah:

Fill them with sequestered C02: a great way of enjoying all the benefits of a gas-guzzlin' SUV, and saving the planet too.

Think in terms of actual pressure, not ambient.

A "flat tire" will still have 14.7 PSI (or there-abouts) in it absolute.

A "30 PSI" tire will have 44.7 PSI absolute.

So, the pure nitrogen tire is actually still 1/3 air.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Which is ~78% nitrogen, mixed with 2/3 95% Nitrogen, and you get an overall nitrogen percentage of 89.333 etc.

Thanks for crunching the numbers for me; I was too lazy to.

getting back to my original point, i believe if you use the ideal gas laws, figure out the mass of the air occupying the tire at 0 psig (14.7 actual) and then at 30psig, you'll get something like 7 percent of the tire not being nitrogen....

Somebody stated earlier that the 'pure' nitrogen is only 95% pure.
