Keep in mind if you guys are going to keep it for a while, the auto transmission is going to need to be replaced or rebuilt most likely.

True, i dont' know how German autos are but all the cars that my dad has replaced so far has died due to transmission failures.

And my BMW automatic is still in great shape at 150k miles. And it's a great car to drive.

I want a manual too but it's my sisters car. Plus, my mom will probably use it from time to time and she's a total "need an automatic" lady. Besides, I derive my fun from the way the car feels and handles, not the type of transmission in it. The manual Toyota Corolla or Kia Price or Hyundai Elentra I drove for example were just plain boring to drive despite having a manual.
