I guess the title was a faux pas on my part... I thought it meant "turned".

You're getting confused, you meant to simply type "come". In 18th-early 20th century slang, one might say something like "He was a coward come hero", "come" having the same connotation as "becoming" or "became", a transition over time. So you had the right line of thought.

Or you really did mean the latin form in which case you're a dope.

I voted for the Elantra.  Only because it costs less than most, has a nice warranty and the cabin is surprisingly roomy.
