I want a definitive answer... (clutch question)

If you shift really fast, you can sometimes shift too quickly for the synchromesh to adequately match the shaft speeds and you'll end up grinding gears.  Double clutching's the only way to avoid this.

It seems to me that if you're double clutching, it's going to slow you down enough that you might just slow down and blip to begin with. Maybe I don't shift fast enough, but I've never had that problem. The only time I ever grind gears is if I accidentally let the clutch off a bit too early.
