3 out of 4.

And beautiful!

Don't get Chris in here yelling at you about how reliable old Jags are.

yeah that Jag is pretty gorgeous, I must admit

but I'm sure Chris will agree that an old Jaguar isn't the best car for a 20-year-old college student whose idea of preventive maintenance is scheduling an oil change at Walmart :mask:

well, they haven't test driven anything yet, but after a healthy family debate, right now it looks like either the Mazda 3 or the Corolla

we'll have to wait til next week to start test driving, so let's hope that the Mazda makes a good enough impression over the Corolla to win their decision.

seriously, NomisR's Corolla thread is starting to scare me :(

Laconian

I hear the Corolla is designed especially for women. So she'll probably end up loving it.

Who knows, she might actually like the Corolla, otherwise, why would they sell so well?  They're not real drivers car but if she's not a "driver".. she'll love it!!

well here it is, a white 2005 Toyota Corolla CE. $12,900 + fees and 13,4xx miles on the clock. comes complete with a 4-speed automatic, CD player, A/C, and roll-up windows

we had been to a kind of shitty car dealer and then a REALLY shitty car dealer earlier that day, so we were just about to give up on shopping for the day. but on our way to our uncle's house for a father's day bbq, we drove past a row of car dealers by the freeway and decided to check their websites to see if they had anything worthwhile. lo and behold, there it was in all its glory. the sister found it perfect during the test drive, and the salesman was very professional and straightforward, just the way I like to do business.

when we brought the car back to the uncle's house, it provided us with a good 5 minutes of 'ooh's and 'ahh's from the cousins. mostly because it was shiny

Price seems a bit high.

What did your sister say about why she liked it?

What did your sister say about why she liked it?

it's the lowest mileage Corolla we found for $13,000.

she likes mostly it because it's 11 years newer than her old Civic. I asked her about the brakes, acceleration, steering, etc. and she said they were fine. she's 5'4, so she also finds the car acceptably comfortable.
