My father in his youth owned the mid-1950s C model. He was in France, Spain, the UK and Italy with that car. That specific car is still around, believe it or not. He sold it to a relative in the late '60s who then gave it to his son in the '80s. His son also owned a 1979 Toyota Celica Liftback. As a kid we'd visit these relatives and we'd see both cars in the garage. Despite being garaged, the Toyota self-destructed (rust) while the Fiat didn't. Sometimes at classic car shows I still see my dad's 500 C around. Pretty amazing!

Saw this 1991 Daimler Double Six (5.3 V12) with only 51,000 km (31,689 miles) at Schloss Nymphenburg. The owner loves V12 engines and he also has a 1991 BMW 750iL with 450,000 km (279,617 miles) - and everything still works!

It's actually been restored. The owner told the group of people standing around that he picked up this car in poor condition and his mechanic buddy restored it. His mechanic also said he's never touching a Jaguar V12 ever again.

As the badge at the rear implies, I suspect that the V12 was basically put together out of two inline-6s - correct?

The name was a carry-over from pre-war Daimlers.  The V12 in the 90s is a Jaguar engine; and was not put together out of two inline 6s.

IIRC that BMW is also a "double six". It even has two identical separate engine DMEs for each bank of the V2.

Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6.3 and a quite rare (nowadays) Mercedes-Benz 230 (carburated) W123. Most 230s have long since been shipped off to Africa, Asia or Eastern Europe during the 1990s when the government became serious about emissions. To find one in such great condition (minus the driver's side fender damage) is remarkable!

This beautiful rust-free BMW "New Six" 2500 (E3) was parked behind my car today. For me this is one of the most beautiful BMWs ever. The owner was a young lady who gave me some history on the car. It looks so good because it spent its life in Italy and is therefore rust free!

Saw this today from a distance. At first I thought it was a Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer...then I saw the VOLVO lettering. Did some checking, turns out this is a Volvo C303! Never heard of them or knew of their existence until today!
