I've been seeing a couple of rare Italian sedans lately.

Earlier today I spotted a 1980's Maserati Quattroporte (basically a stretched four-door Biturbo) in chocolate brown.  Just last night I also spotted a parked 1991 (I walked up an checked the VIN) Alfa Romeo 164 L sedan in silver.  This one was a five speed on Alabama plates.

I didn't notice the plates on the Maserati because I was too busy marvelling at the fantastic condition of the car as it pulled up next to me in my Volvo at the traffic light!

Oh, I almost forgot.  I also caught a glimpse of a Rolls Royce Corniche last night near where I had spotted the Maserati today.  Three rare, ecclectic and slightly weird cars in such a short space of time.  Was there a full moon last night?

BTW, a few years ago I came dangerously close to buying a 1992 Alfa Romeo 164.  The car needed a clutch and a timing belt and had a couple of other issues which were enough to scare me off the idea.  Plus, I was still haunted by my last experience with a Fiat-Lancia-Alfa Group product (1980 X-1/9 Bertone) and didn't want to succumb to the charms of another mechanical Italian mistress that would drain both my patience and my bank account!

Yup.  I see three of those on a regular basis, and one is a VR6 model with brembo brakes.  It was quite a fast car (6.8 to 60 with the VR6), but ultimately, the Corrado was a flop.

Yesterday, I saw some hauling truck with a White Solstice on the platform. If I am correct, I think it had white leather. What I am sure of, though, is that there was a body kit and the grille was not changed. It had more of a trapezoidal, edy shape with straight lines rather than curves.

Not too shabby.

No, actually. It was 100% Solstice, and it still had the dual grille. The rear didn't look much different though...

Like that but prettier, and all white.

You're my age.  We're getting old.  Plus, now that you're married, your life expectancy has gone way down, since you're more likely to be poisoned by your wife.

Parked (and drove) last night:
S4 convert.
RS6
M-B S600 V12

Got $2 tip from the S4 and S600, and a $3 tip from the RS6

On another note a guy with a 1995ish nissan maxima gave me $10 tip.  Let's hear it for cheap rich people.

:o I'm jealous. The S4 is nice too, and the MB is nice, but I couldn't care less about it. If I wanted to drive a car like that, I'm sure my friend would let me borrow his 760iL for a night. But the RS6... well, for some reason I have a special desire for that car. Too bad they were cheapskates though.  <_<

Saw something interesting on the way home today, so I stopped and took a picture since I happened to have my camera with me. I scaled these way down so they wouldn't bog anyone down. Any ideas what these two trucks full of oddly painted Trailblazers would be for?

They're rollings ads. I can't read them all, but one says "Field and Stream" and another "Snickers". They may not be for sale, they might just be on a tour.

I doubted they were for sale, but they still had window stickers in them, and it appeared the interiors were still wrapped in plastic. I can't imagine why they were stopped here though.

Maybe they sell them at a discounted price and the advertiser picks up the difference between the price paid and the MSRP? Couldn't tell you.

TBR

I actually came across a website the other day that offered you a luxury vehicle with an ad on it for free as long as you drove it so and so miles and washed it once a month.
