To mark the end of the current model?s run, Subaru has released a new final-edition GB270 Impreza WRX saloon and sports wagon. Named after the UK?s Rally GB, Subaru?s most successful WRC event, the new GB270 comes equipped with a 266hp 2.5L boxer engine enhanced by motorsport company Prodrive.

Power is up 40hp over the standard WRX and torque is boosted by an additional 74lb-ft, now standing at 310lb-ft. The extra performance results in a 0 to 60mph time of 5.3 seconds versus 5.9 seconds for the regular model, and a 0?100mph time of 13.9 seconds instead of 14.4 seconds. Mid-range response is substantially improved as well.

Other features include a lowered spring kit, ?quickshift? gearchange, a MOMO gear knob and unique badging. The cars are further differentiated thanks to the stainless-steel mesh front grille, STI front lip spoiler and silver-finished 18in alloy wheels. Subaru will be limiting production to just 400 cars, which will go on sale in the UK only from the 10th of July.

is this really that important?
"On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high." - Ayrton Senna

Yes? It's a limited-run model between the WRX and the WRX STi. It's sexy as hell too.

I had no idea there was a standard of importantness to qualify for a new thread?

That wagon is totally hot!?

Sedan ain't bad either, and the motor makes around 270hp (ps really, but close) and 310ft/lbs of torque.
Not bad for a fourbanger!

the blue sedan = rape. thats right, its so hot it doesnt even need to have a logical sense making equation to describe it...

no seriously, the sedan is sick, i've never really appreciated this generations WRX line up...*had a feeling things were going to go bad once they split up the front grill* anyways, after seeing this thing, i suddenly realize how good the current generation of WRX's look.
The power boost and other add ons should have been on the original WRX though, ok mayb not so much the silver finished rims, and those other "unperformance" enhancements *cough momo cough*

thanks for the post.

It has 270-ish horses and 310 lb-ft of torque...surely you were being sarcastic?  That's serious torque for a 4-banger!  Hell,  that's only 10 lb-ft shy of the 4.6L V8 in the Mustang GT!

he was probably kidding, but the rpm at which the torque comes in makes a big difference also.
