I read "MCM" as 'man crush monday' and I got really confused for a solid 30 seconds.

Is that a thing? I know about WCW and TBT and Taco Tuesday. I guess it makes sense.
Definitely a thing, and not just in the gay / CarSPIN community

I'm so behind. Are kids still saying "on fleek" and "rad"? Does bad still mean good? Can I still wear a life preserver as a fashion statement?
Yes, in fact some fancy restaurants in LA won't seat you unless you're wearing a life preserver

Good, because that's how I fucking roll.

I have driven the X5 and X6 M on track at BMW events. They are a riot. But I'd never get one to actually track it in real life. The running costs of tracking those just in expendables - brakes, tires - are insane. They are also not allowed in my track club. Cayenne is the same story.
As a matter of fact a club friend is offering to sell me his 2010 X5M with about 35,000 miles. I'd spend half of what a new X5 5.0 or XC90 cost. But I want a car that I can trust won't leave us stranded with the baby in the middle of nowhere. For that I already have the M5.
Sorry but the style has gone full hipster now. Those newfangled vests are so gauche.

This is Carspin where gay is the norm, so not surprising at all at the confusion.

That says everything about BMW.
A used car with 35k miles? No, I need something I can trust

Well, a 6 pot BMW I can trust not to leave me stranded. The turbo V8s no, especially of that vintage.
The fact you even have to preface it with a certain type of engine still says a lot.
If someone said, "I need something that won't leave me stranded", a 35k mile used Toyota (any model really) would work. Just the opposite for BMW.

I wonder, who is the mythic manufacturer that builds a reliable 600hp 0-60 in sub 3 seconds SUV?
I want something that won't leave stranded (for a few years) and will outaccelerate almost anything. Hence, new X5 V8 sound good. Or Cayenne S (but too expensive).
The GMC Yukon isn't as fast, but still not 'slow', and has more room and a very nice interior.

FWIW my friends brother has the latest gen x5m and never been in the shop unexpectedly. He drives 100+ miles a day too

Latest gen is fine. The early twin turbo V8s are the ones that are very problematic. They've been ok for the last 3-4 years or so.

A friend of ours has one. For all its bulk, it's still pretty tight inside.

I know what beer pong is. And I've been to a party before.
What the fuck everything else though.
The sound of the M2 blows the S series engine in the 3/4 out of the water. Especially from inside the car.

Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 (I know, I know)
