So how does the repo work...since they took it back does that mean any back (or future) payments are also void? Or do you still owe them money (loan balance less current value of the vehicle or something like that)?

I could bail it out for about $1700, but I won't.

It will go to auction, and then I will owe the balance.

Need second beater.

I would not be opposed to this. The seller is obviously reasonably intelligent.

The V6 seems a bit weak to push that thing around.  Better with the V8.

All the old cars are either overpriced, or pickup trucks. Fuck.

Maybe I can find a nice 90s econobox.

Reality check.
My left knee is going to hell. Even Fiesta's super light clutch was painful to drive.
Am I going full autotragic? Perhaps. FML.

Am I imagining things or don't you have a Jeep Cherokee?

I think I will go to an auction and buy something questionable.

Cherokee just got a tune up - plugs-wires-cap-rotor. Much better. Was a bit skippy before.

Still needs things.

Since it has real gauges, I can tell that the temp creeps past 220 sitting in traffic on a hot day with the AC on max. I have also known for a while that the alternator has a bad diode or two since it only puts out 13.1 volts, or 12.4 with a load ... eek.

I picked up a cheeeep alternator from my parts store, and I need to get a new radiator fan clutch - may upgrade to a Grand Cherokee clutch for some xtra airflow and shittier MPG. Might get an oversized all aluminum radiator because race car. Also have a trans cooler sitting around, so will throw that in, too.

Would like a stereo (it has none), but all these mechanical things will cost enough already

So I did the alternator and upgraded severe duty ZJ fan ckutch today. That's when I noticed the radiator is leaking. So yeah, I'll be getting this:

So Jeep is back on the road.
Got a new cheepo radiator.
Also bypassed the built-in trans cooler/warmer and installed a real trans cooler behind the bumper. Shit is real, dawg.

I get way too nostalgic for XJ's. I loved riding in my dad's back in the 90s.
