Title: "Otto" back in Munich
Post by: cawimmer430 on February 07, 2014, 04:10:24 AM
Remember that German guy who together with his wife and Mercedes 300GD spent 25 years touring the world and has amassed over 800,000 km with it? He's back in his native Munich and his car, named "Otto", is on display at the local Mercedes dealership.

You're looking at a piece of automotive history here! Sadly, I only had my smartphone with me and had to use the crappy camera to take some crappy photos.  :ohyeah:

Wonderful!  What a way to spend your life.  Sadly, his wife died in 2010 but he kept going at her request.

Yes, she died during the trip, but her death further inspired him to keep going. I have to admire this guy for having the willpower to even start an epic journey like this. Much respect.
