Changing the battery was a bit of a pain. After the new battery was installed the car started and drove ok but lots of things failes. No A/C, electronic locks, windows, turn signals, interior lights. But weirdly, the rear sunshade continued to work as did the seat controls, horn, cluster.

I started thinking shit could get expensive fast maybe I'd blown a control module or at the very least lots of fuses. Fortunately it all went away after simply unplugging the battery for 10 minutes and "rebooting" the car.

First gen Jeep Liberty CRD. Any good? These are well under $10K now. The MPG potential in a small 4x4 is appealing. The rest of it is meh...

Is the CRD the diesel one?

Allot of electric problems on modern cars, even seemingly serious ones like failing air suspension, are simply the battery is low problem.

I think preventive replacement of the battery is a must on modern cars precisely because of that. I replaced it preventively on the E90 for that reason and plan to keep doing that every 3 years to avoid this problems.

After buying rims and tires, how is it that you have to scrape money to get them mounted?

Yeah, Cale  totally should have put all that money in his 401k and into offshore investment accounts instead. What a n00b.

That car has a hilarious rear spoiler. Basically a clear plexiglass piece bolted on. His other car (red C2 Vette) has one too.

Which is how I wonder it's a problem to get $40 to get them mounted.

Eye of the Tiger

The cost of mounting and balancing wheels, which is mostly labor, has nearly doubled in the past ten years. Yet, tire changers still only make minimum wage.
