I'm not sure that answers my question. I got the picking part, but I didn't get what they were being picked for.

In other words, should the picks complement each other or would each be a theoretical DD?

Why do you make things so difficult on yourself?  Just pick your favourite car from each manufacturer.  It's not hard.

I had intended it to be from their current crop of cars, but I didn't state that.  Some people have already picked cars from many different years, so pick them from their entire history.

I didn't, I just chose something else. Same with the NSX: I picked the TSX instead, to maintain a modicum of reality. Same with Malibu vs. Corvette ZR-1. There isn't much point in making these lists unless there is some semblance of realism maintained. Otherwise everyone posts the same list of the most powerful and expensive cars ever made by each marque.

I see a lot of variety among the picks, even when people go all-out and get the elite models. I mean, how can we worry about realism with Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Ferrari?

"Jaguar - See sig, an XJ. Classic, unbeatable, undeniably orgasmic and I dont care how much better the Germans are. I dont care! i dont care!"

The Germans aren't significantly better yet cost significantly more. Even ignoring the Jaguar's enormous style advantage over the S and 7, the XJ would be a logical choice.

I personally would be torn between a S8 and a XJ Super V8.

i went for all new 2009 models, above. i am terrible recalling years of the more beloved classics, especially when it comes to luxury cars (i.e. cadillacs, imperials, rolls-royces of yore)!

Aston Martin doesn't make "ragtops." They make drophead coupes.

Ferrari doesn't make "ragtops." They make Spiders and Barchettas.

There is no Passat coupe. There never has been.
