I could have a full size truck for what I paid for the Taco. But I prefer the smaller size for being in the woods. It's more maneuverable, can fit down tighter trails without worrying about scratching the hell out of it, and requires a lot less room to turn around if you get to something blocking a trail or a giant mudhole you aren't too sure about.

It's a bit nonsensical to have expectations from a mid sizer on par with a full sizer.  That's like wondering why an Equinox doesn't have the same amount of room or towing capacity as a Traverse.  They are different things for different people.

4XE starts at $60k...a normal JGC starts at $38k...?

I appreciate that hybrids are more efficient, but it feels very disingenuous when people talk about the "savings" involved when they could have just spent handfuls/tens of thousands less on both initial cost and fuel as it is and never have to justify it with "well, I plug it in at night, so, savings!"

We got ours for $49k after incentives and rebates and it's fairly loaded plus has the 2 speed transfer case and 4wd system that only comes in the top trims for V6's

A $38k JGC is going to be a stripped out 2wd model.

Quote from: giant_mtb on September 08, 2024, 02:26:56 PMIt's like a Chevy Avalanche and Pontiac Aztec had a Downs Syndrome baby drawn by a toddler. You're a special kind of Elon simp if you think the CT looks "great."

Typically an Elon simp who owns an EV would own a Tesla...

I have an EV but it is not a Tesla.

There's a lot of hyperbole regarding the ugliness of the Cybertruck usually referencing vomiting. Regardless of the quality of the vehicle or functionality as a pickup, its exterior design is pretty cool looking in my opinion.  The final product is very similar to the initial advertised design, and 2 million Americans put down a deposit on one, so thinking it looks cool would not be a rare opinion.

"Special kind of simp" implies a rare quality but that doesn't seem to fit either.

I think purchase price and MPG are about the only reasons people "downsize".

I just read a guy said he traded in his Ford Maverick on a Lightning. He was waiting to see the hybrid AWD version (new for 2025) but the price on that is literally only a couple thousand less than the deal he got on the Lightning.
