Lookin good. I have probably said this a thousand times, bur I wish XJs that clean existed here for less than $9M.

There is basically no rust on it. It was originally a SC state fleet vehicle.

But...it's 2WD, so it wouldn't sell here anyways.

Not that somebody with enough volition couldn't simply convert it to 4WD...what does it need to be 4WD? T-case, front axle, driveshaft, other little front end odds and ends?

SJ_GTI

Definitely looks good...great shape especially for a car that age. It looks like it is in better shape than most cars that are 5 years old.

shp4man

Nice! Good engine, too.

I'll give you $2500 for it and $500 to deliver it to me.

I didn't realize you were a dairy farmer! How about throwing in a few cows, too?

That feel when you put new brake pads on, lube everything up, and then the caliper piston seizes on the highway, in a shoulderless, one lane construction zone that is several miles long, with a Panamerican Porsche on your tail.  Mmm .... brake smoke.

15 minute brake caliper replacement, and Jerp is back in business.

I don't know for sure, but I think Jerp can do 0-60 in about 4 seconds. Infinity torque.

That is, until it hiccups and throws a P0132. Probably the throttle position sensor. Anyway, the throttle body is in the kitchen sink for a thorough cleaning.

If there's a throttle body in your kitchen sink........you may be a redneck.    -Jeff Foxworthy.

I've always liked the Cherokees. There was a Jeep Comanche in the hospital parking lot a couple of months ago. First time I'd seen one running in quite some time.  There was beautiful one for sale near me (2dr; 2wd; stick shift; 180,000miles if I recall) for $4500. I just didn't have the cash on hand to grab it.

Eye of the Tiger

Hmm... Cherokee is great. Dakota is ... killing my left knee. Maybe Fiesta's light clutch will be okay. I should sell Dakota and keep Festiva.

Okay, near future garage:
Cherokee and NA/NB Miata

Cherokee is scary fun, like an old muscle car. It feels like it has way too much power for the chassis. It's the opposite of Dakota, which handles surprisingly well, but requires wide open throttle at all times just to maintain speed.

The only answer is Miata..... :muffin:

First tank: 15 MPG
Of course, half of that was with a bad O2 sensor
I'll shoot for 16 on this tank!

I did a thing when I mounted my new tires.
I did not balance them with wheel weights.
What I did do was add 3 oz. of high quality airsoft pellets to each tire. Dynamic balancing. It works!
Occasionally, when accelerating quickly, some vibration occurs for a few seconds, until the pellets can catch up
Very happy, though.

Interesting, I never heard of doing that before.

3 car minimum rule is golden.
My left knee is so bad right now, I can't even drive 2/3 of my vehicles. It's good to have a 3rd.
