Funny how silence is such a "luxury feature" but the guy says he prefers to have the fake piped sound on.

Overall, yawn. Always interesting cars, the super luxes, but ultimately unappealing given their unattainable-ness.

Ok I don't follow F1 much but I'm watching highlights from the F1 race,

This moment and the following action, the sparks under the cars are the cars making contact with the asphalt?!?!?!!!

Looks fun! I wish I had a Miata when I lived up there!!! I didn't even have any cars with a sunroof the whole 3 years in NY. :(

My comment on the video:
When you distil all the reviews and tests of ultra luxury vehicles, it comes down to 1) cosseting and 2) silence. The first $100,000 gets you 90% there. The magic is in spending the extra $500,000 to take care of the remaining 10%.

Kyle Larson will give it a go this weekend as long as the weather holds up in Indy.  He stands a chance, but the Penske cars seem faster than his McLaren.  If he can pull off the win it would just be incredible.  One of the biggest feats of any driver in the last 50 years.

Quote from: WookieOnRitalin on May 18, 2024, 07:30:04 AMYes, a lot of people in Middle Tennessee drive Nissans. Like all things, Nissan fell into a situation where they had to focus on being profitable versus being interesting. I fail to see what they offer much to the enthusiasts even though they have made vehicles over time that I felt were engaging and interesting.

If I was going to buy a Nissan now it would be an Pro 4x Xterra. A true utility vehicle that is half the price of a FJ or 4Runner. It's a shame they do not make them anymore.

There is a 1st gen Xterra at my gym - really good condition, probably a 2" lift, chunky Terra Grapplers, a light bar, some other nicks and nacks and it's a five speed.  Very cool 4x4.  It's from the era where Japanese trucks hit the sweet spot between weird and quirky and western mainstream. Great time for Nissan, Toyota and even Mitsubishi.
